The positive news is that the center of Bratislava and its surroundings still offer places with convenient and sometimes free parking. These are mostly underground garages and outdoor parking lots. The streets of the city are already heavily tolled.
Finding parking in the very center of Bratislava is often a problem. Nevertheless, there are several car parks nearby that will make you happy as they are free. Just 10 minutes from the city center, look for parking lots: on Tyršovo nábreží, under the Lafranconi bridge or in front of the TPD in Petržalka.
We also recommend switching to one of the types of public transport, and in a few minutes you will find yourself in the historic part of the capital. You can also try your luck around Lake Kuchajda, on the sidewalk along Račianská and Vajnorská streets or at the Pasienky swimming pool.
If you are in a hurry and need to park in the center, do not worry, the price for parking will not ruin you. Most of the streets in the city center are tolled, from 8:00 to 16:00 during the working week, but half an hour of parking costs 60 cents. You can obtain parking tickets using SMS parking tickets or by purchasing them at parking machines.
The big advantage is that, in addition to the above-mentioned reserved times, parking on the city streets is completely free. However, as the number of cars increases every day, it is possible that you will find it harder to find a free parking space.
One of the most popular and surest options is parking at various retail chains and in the garages of large shopping malls. Such an alternative is offered by Avion on Ivanská cesta, Aupark in Petržalka, Eurovea by the Danube embankment, Nivy center on Mlynské nivy, but also Shopping Palace Zlaté piesky, Bory Mall in Lamač or Central in Trnavský mýto. We have selected for you four of them that excel in capacity.
Avion Shopping Park is the largest shopping center in Slovakia and for the pleasure of drivers, this giant offers up to 3280 free parking spaces. The parking lot also includes special places marked with the pictogram of mother and father with a pram.
There are 2,240 parking spaces at the Aupark Shopping and Entertainment Center. In total, this capacity is divided into 5 car parks, which are marked P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5. On weekends and holidays, parking is completely free for each.
Parking in zones P3 and P5 is always free, while parking P5 has a capacity of 364 places and P3 has 25 parking spaces. The P3 car park is reserved for disabled people and electric car owners who want to use the charging stations. In car parks P1, P2 and P4, parking is free for the first 3 hours during the working week. You pay 3 euros for each additional hour started.
The Eurovea shopping center has a capacity of 1,900 parking spaces. What will please car owners is free parking for the first 3 hours on weekdays. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, you can park for free for the first 5 hours. Each additional hour will cost you 3.50 euros.
The newly opened Nivy center offers 2,150 parking spaces. The vehicle can be parked here in the parking house or in the basement car park. Parking is free for the first 3 hours on weekdays, and the first 5 hours are free on weekends and public holidays. Each additional hour costs 3 euros.
However, if you want to be sure that you park whenever you need, you can use the services of a web portal called Parking.sk. The largest offer of parking in Slovakia is paid, but it offers many benefits. On the site you will find short-term and long-term type of parking, while you can rent parking spaces and garages, but also buy them. Parking is a widespread alternative in Bratislava - you will find parking offers in various parts of the city, you just have to choose.
